LR awards Oshima multi-fuel AiP

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has awarded approval in principle (AiP) to Oshima Shipbuilding for its multi-fuel-ready Ultramax bulk carrier design, recognising a concept developed to support alternative fuel use and onboard carbon capture technology

The AiP covers a 64,000 dwt bulk carrier designed to accommodate ammonia, methanol and methane (LNG), alongside provision for onboard carbon capture and storage.
