Methanol engine retrofit marks milestone

A methanol engine dual-fuel retrofit aboard the ‘Seaspan Yangtze’ has been completed, marking the first vessel in a five-ship Hapag-Lloyd upgrade programme.

The project, at COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Shanghai), involved the conversion of the vessel’s main engine to methanol dual-fuel operation courtesy of Everllence’s PrimeServ division.
