This year’s programme features a number of future fuel showcase sessions discussing alternative and low flashpoint fuels such as LNG, ammonia, hydrogen, batteries, methanol and more. There will be a focus on zero emissions, with particular emphasis on the transition period and the fuels which will facilitate it.

The future fuel showcases will feature world leading experts in engines and technology, fuel containment, legislation and policy, handling and transport, as well as vessel operators.

Ammonia will feature as one of this year’s showcase sessions and will cover topics such as dual fuel engines, assessments of ammonia as an alternative fuel and ammonia supply.

Kjeld Aabo of MAN Energy Solutions will speak about dual fuel engine technology. His presentation will cover how Ammonia could be a perfect choice for shipowners seeking lower emissions, particularly if produced from sustainable energy sources such as hydro, thermal power or wind power.

Christos Chryssakis a Business Development Manager at DNV GL will give an assessment of ammonia as a marine fuel, including its environmental benefits, as well as safety, technical and regulatory challenges that have to be overcome to make it a viable solution. This session will also feature a presentation from Paul Flaherty, Director of Fleet and Technical Operations at Navigator Gas, who will discuss safe, efficient and reliable floating pipelines.
