Purus Marine confirms 4+2 NH3-ready ammonia carrier order

Purus Marine, a UK-based shipowner, has confirmed that it has placed an order for four 45,000 cbm medium-sized gas carriers from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Korea. The order includes an option for two further newbuildings.

The shipping company confirmed that the vessels will be dual-fuel ammonia-ready and are expected to predominantly carry ammonia as a cargo.

The vessels will also be equipped with exhaust gas cleaning systems to ensure that they can operate on conventional fuel.
