SHI 200cbm NH3 carrier design receives AiP from KR

An innovative 200,000cbm capacity very large ammonia carrier design developed by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) has been granted an Approval in Principle (AiP) by KR (Korean Register). The AiP was officially handed over at a ceremony at Gastech 2023 in Singapore on 6 September.

The NH3 dual-fuel design is noteworthy as it represents the largest capacity NH3 carrier design currently under development. The ultra-large ammonia carrier design was the outcome of a joint development project (JDP) between KR and SHI.
