The United Kingdom has welcomed the world’s first dual-fuel ammonia-powered vessel, marking a significant step forward in the drive towards maritime decarbonisation.

The Singapore-flagged Fortescue Green Pioneer has arrived to showcase the potential of ammonia as a sustainable marine fuel. The vessel is powered by four-stroke engines, two of which are capable of operating on ammonia and diesel, representing a major advance in alternative fuel propulsion technology.
