The Korean-owned Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries (DMHI) shipyard, located 40 km south of Constanta harbour in Romania, is returning to the shiprepair and conversion business after a four-year break during which it concentrated on newbuildings.

Between 1997 and 2007 DMHI carried out over 300 major repair and conversion jobs using its three large drydocks with cranage including a 1,000t and two 480t Goliath cranes. The yard has three quays of lengths 620m, 540m and 430m.

DMHI is capable of handling vessels up to 250,000dwt and says it will deal with every type of repair work including steel work, piping, engine repairs and maintenance, shaft lines and propellers.
