Shell to demonstrate SOFC on LNG carrier

Shell has signed an agreement with KSOE, DNV and Doosan Fuel Cell to launch a vessel powered by a SOFC in 2025.

Shell has signed a deal to power an LNG carrier with a HyAxiom-developed solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) to test the technology’s ability to cut carbon emissions from maritime transport.
