Cruise sector advances biofuel use with bunkering of Norwegian Viva in Piraeus

World Fuel Services has coordinated one of the first commercial biofuel bunkerings for a cruise vessel in Greece, supplying Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ Norwegian Viva with a waste-based marine fuel blend in Piraeus.

The delivery, carried out in cooperation with Greek supplier EKO, reflects growing international efforts to introduce lower-carbon fuels into regular cruise operations.
