K Shipbuilding in Korean-led 12k cbm DF LCO2 carrier joint study project

Korean shipbuilder K Shipbuilding has launched a joint study project towards the development of a 12,000cbm liquefied carbon dioxide (LCO2) carrier design with Korean Register (KR), along with industry partners Sunbo Industries and Dongsung Finetec, at Gastech in Singapore this week.

The partners will take responsibility for different aspects of the vessel design, and associated LCO2 systems. K Shipbuilding will lead the development and design optimisation of a 12,000cbm capacity LCO2 carrier. The vessel will feature a medium-pressure containment system, with a design pressure of 19 bar.
