CIMAC engine users highlight NOx challenges

With limited orders so far, Tier III solutions for two-stroke engines require field experience to identify and iron out operational issues

Tier III NOx limits, enforced for newbuild vessels plying the US and Caribbean emission control areas since 1 January, present ship operators with some difficult choices, according to a paper presented on behalf of the CIMAC Engine Users group.
