Propulsion & Future Fuels 2018 begins tomorrow at 08:00 at the Empire Riverside Hotel, Hamburg Germany.

Senior managers, directors, technology and fuel specialists, ship owners and operators will be meeting at PFF 2018 for two packed days of presentations featuring ground breaking case studies, as well as panel discussions giving delegates a chance to ask the questions that matter to them in the run up to 2020 and in the wider emissions context.

Day one kicks off with a keynote session featuring Harry Conway, Vice Chairman, MEPC (Marine Environmental Protection Council), IMO; Thomas S. Knudsen, Senior Vice President – Head of Two-Stroke Business, MAN Energy Solutions; and Stein Thorsager, Segment Sales Director, Merchant & Gas, Wärtsilä Marine Solutions who will all be discussing the emissions outlook facing the commercial shipping community in the coming years.

This session is followed by the shipowner panel – ‘Investing in the future fleet’ – which will certainly be of interest to many in attendance looking to prepare for the future.

The third day of the conference takes the form of a technical visit to a Scanlines hybrid powered vessel 'Deutschland', a unique RoPax and railway vessel. The ferry will depart from Puttgarden at 13:45 and transport will be provided from the Empire Riverside Hotel to Puttgarden, returning to Hamburg after the visit in the late afternoon.

During the delegates' tour of the 'Deutschland', Senior Vice President of Route Management & Operations, Michael Guldmann Petersen, will give a presentation of Scandlines hybrid and zero emission project followed by a tour of the engine room and the bridge.
