Ampereship completes fully electric propulsion conversion

Ampereship has completed the successful conversion of the passenger vessel Uetliberg to fully electric propulsion.

Now operating on Lake Zurich, the vessel is the largest battery-powered passenger ship in Switzerland and, with its 3.6 MWh battery system, is projected to save approximately 113,000 litres of diesel and 300 tonnes of CO₂ annually. The project demonstrates the feasibility of operating even large, existing passenger ships in a future-proof and emission-free manner, representing a decisive step towards greener operations on lakes and rivers.
