DNV certifies LCO2 carrier design

DNV has awarded a General Approval for Ship Application certificate for a new 62,000 cbm liquid carbon dioxide carrier design

Awarded to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, MISC Berhad, Petronas CCS Ventures and Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute, the certification builds on an earlier approval in principle granted in 2023.

It marks a major milestone in advancing carbon capture and storage solutions in the Asia-Pacific region.
