First obstacle avoidance sonar fitted to a tanker
Channel Islands-based company Marine Electronics Ltd recently demonstrated the first obstacle avoidance sonar fitted to a tanker. The See Echo sonar has been developed in Guernsey, and has been installed aboard a British-operated tanker as a major initiative to refine operational safety.
