Lloyd’s Register has awarded approval in principle to HD Hyundai Heavy Industries for a groundbreaking next-generation LNG carrier design

The vessel features a forward accommodation layout and integrates the Wind Challenger, a wind-assisted propulsion system developed by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines.

The design allows flexibility for varying sail configurations and supports integration of alternative fuel modules and battery storage, making it adaptable to future regulatory and operational needs.
