GE to supply power and propulsion package for US NSMV newbuildings

GE’s Power Conversion business has been awarded a $40 million contract from DSEC for two National Security Multi-Mission Vessels’ power and propulsion systems (credit: U.S. Department of Transportation).

GE has been selected to provide the power and propulsion solutions for two merchant navy training ships. GE has been selected as the single-source vendor (SSV) for the ships’ propulsion system, the company announced on 23 November.
