EU representative to provide insight into FuelEU Maritime regulations

The upcoming Motorship Propulsion and Future Fuels conference is opening with a high-level panel to discuss the impact of regulatory changes including FuelEU Maritime regulations. The session will include Ricardo Batista, Policy Officer, EU Commission and member of the Fuel EU Maritime group, on the keynote panel. 

The EU Council and the EU Parliament reached a provisional agreement on the FuelEU Maritime decarbonisation initiative in the early hours of 23 March 2023. 

Beyond the introduction of requirements for onshore power supply (OPS) for containerships and passenger vessels, the FuelEU Maritime initiative is expected to increase the demand for and consistent use of renewable and low-carbon fuels.
