This year’s Gas Fuelled Ships conference will boast a strong contingent of ship owners, operators and managers from across the globe.

Future fuel options, pricing predictions, infrastructure updates, bunkering, safety and technology updates, and operator feedback on the use of LNG as a fuel will all feature on the programme, together with in-depth panel discussions from cross-sector experts.

Delegates at this year’s Gas Fuelled Ships Conference will come away with a wealth of knowledge about the predicted use of low flash point fuels as a maritime fuel. A highlight of the programme will be the panel discussions which will bring together industry experts, who will share their knowledge, and will give participants the opportunity to get answers to their concerns.

The programme is packed with operator case studies and feedback that will update attendees on the latest projects for LNG-fuelled/LNG-ready vessels.

Martial Claudpierre, Business Development Manager, Bureau Veritas will present on a joint project between Wessels Reederei, Bureau Veritas and MAN. The LNG Retrofit of a 1036 TEU ContainerFeederproject will highlight thebenefits of LNG retrofit of a 1.036 TEU, high ice class and optimised for 45‘container,as demanded by the charter market, covering technical arrangements and necessarywork for completion of the project.

Tetsuya Yamada, General Manager of Ship Design Group, MOL will present on LNG fuelled vessels. MOL has been working on several LNG fuel projects, for container vessels, cape size bulk carriers, tag boats, domestic ferries etc. These projects will be covered together with a comparison of MEGI and X-DF from an operator’s point of view.

Douwe de Jong, LNG Bunkering Business Developer, Engie LNG Solutions will present a case study of ship to ship LNG bunkering operation in the Port of Zeebrugge. Backed by leading global players Gas4Sea is setting a new direction in the maritime sector by advancing LNG as a marine fuel via ship to ship transfer. LNG bunkering has now been brought to a new level, as the first ship to ship LNG bunkering operation commenced in Q2 2017 in the Port of Zeebrugge using the first purpose built LNG bunkering vessel, Engie Zeebrugge.

Finally, Joacim Westerlund, Technical Fleet Manager, Viking Line will provide operator feedback on the Viking Mariella and the inner working of the methanol fuel cell that attendees will have been able to visit during the technical visits throughout the conference. Joacim will be joined by Jacob Schelle Jensen, a fuel cell expert from SerEnergy, who will be able to respond to questions on the fuel cell project.
