MacGregor will supply a complete mooring and riser system to Excelerate Energy as part of a contract to service a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in Bangladesh.

Moheshkhali LNG terminal

The mooring and riser system will be used by Moheshkhali liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal

The order will see the delivery of on-vessel equipment including Flintstone mooring connectors, product fabrication, engineering and project management for the system to be used by Moheshkhali liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal, operated by Excelerate Energy.

"We are happy to be involved in this floating LNG terminal project. This order is a natural step in our strategy to expand to the FSRU market with one of world's leading players," said Michel van Roozendaal, president of MacGregor.

The delivery will be completed in the second quarter of 2018.

Moheshkhali Floating LNG is a joint project between Excelerate and the International Finance Corporation (IFC, and a member of the World Bank Group). Excelerate will own and operate the terminal under a 15-year turnkey agreement with Petrobangla.
