Container industry carbon emissions are falling but is it too soon to say whether this will be sustained?

Carbon emissions from the container industry feel during the first quarter of 2023 across ten of the world’s busiest 13 ocean freight lanes, according to analysis by Xeneta.

According to the carbon emissions index, a benchmarking tool created by Xeneta and Marine Benchmark, the biggest fall was recorded in the Far East to the US East Coast corridor, with a 21.2% improvement.
