Kongsberg Maritime wins Hurtigruten ESS retrofit contract

Hurtigruten has ordered the retrofit of 2 x 1.12MWh energy storage systems aboard three of its coastal passenger vessels

Norwegian ferry and cruise operator Hurtigruten has announced details of a retrofit programme to lower emissions from seven of its vessels. Three ships will undergo extensive retrofits, which will see their engines replaced with low-emission Bergen engines and the installation of 2.24MWh capacity battery packs.
