Hapag-Lloyd in landmark bonded LNG bunkering in China

Hapag-Lloyd’s container vessel Berlin Express has received a bunkering of bonded LNG in China. The delivery was supplied by World Fuel Services Corporation, and marked the first LNG bunkering operation at a Chinese port for a Hapag-Lloyd vessel.

The Berlin Express also became just the second container vessel to be refueled with bonded LNG in the port.

The delivery of 6,000 cubic metres of bonded LNG fuel lasted around 20 hours, and was an operation that relied upon the support of both the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port authority and local supplier CNOOC.
