Benjamin Scholz is to join the debate on Ammonia at this year’s Propulsion and Future Fuels conference, now just over a month away, from 25-27 November, in Hamburg.

Ben is the Ship Type Expert for Gas Carriers / LNG as fuel at DNV. He will join fellow experts in the session “Ammonia as ship fuel - Sustainable Shipping or Safety Concern?” His presentation will look at whether ammonia is a promising sustainable fuel, or do safety concerns impact its chances of becoming a viable alternative fuel?  

Benjamin specialises in the approval of alternative fuel systems such as LNG, methanol, hydrogen, and ammonia onboard container vessels. He also represents the German flag at the International Maritime Organization for the further development of the IGF-Code.
