This week marks the opening of Marintec 2023: a seminal moment for shipping industry to gather and discuss issues that will affect real change. It is most apt that such conversations should be taking place in Shanghai; a city that sits at the intersection of global trade, writes Daniel Bischofberger, ceo of Accelleron.

With around 60% of global shipping passing through Asia, and a third passing through the South China sea, the region holds significant sway over the flow of goods, and the policies its countries put in place will shape the journey to net zero that the maritime sector adopts.
