Design Approval for CFRP Hybrid Support for Independent Tanks
A newly developed hybrid support structure for independent tanks on board Liquefied Gas Carriers has been awarded Design Approval by Lloyd’s Register (LR), DNV, and the Liberian International Ship & Corporate Registry (LISCR). The solution, which was developed by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, under HD Hyundai Group, is the world’s first application to the independent tank of liquefied gas carriers.

Japanese Pact Advances LPG Carrier Design
Combining increased cargo volume with the ability to run on LPG fuel, the 230m Phoenix Harmonia gives first form to a new class of LPG/ammonia carrier at the top end of the capacity scale.
