As well as providing technical solutions for compliance with emission regulations together with cost saving and performance enhancing solutions, this year’s Conference will provide additional opportunities for networking and discussion during panel discussions and at the Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner.

Delegates at this year’s Propulsion & Emissions Conference will benefit from multiple opportunities to meet with industry experts and peers from across the world to discuss and share solutions to the current economic pressures and environmental challenges.

From the start, with the keynote addresses by Stefan Micallef, MEPC Director, IMP and Ole Graa Jakobsen, Head of Fleet Technology, Maersk Line, the first discussion session, entitled ‘Preparing the global fleet for future challenges’ will see operators, who have opted for a variety of compliance solutions explain their reasons for choosing their option.

Throughout both days of the Conference, delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions and join in with technical discussion sessions on:

Emerging technologies for cylinder conditioning

The forthcoming Ballast Water Convention

Embracing hybridisation

Digital strategies for vessel and fleet optimisation

The Conference will close with the CIMAC Engine Users Working Group Panel Discussion in which operators will share their experiences of working with emissions abatement technologies and future environmental compliance challenges. Panellists: Jörg Erdtmann, Vice President, Technical Management and Service, NSB Niederelbe Schiffahrtsgesellschaft & Chairman CIMAC WG10, Markus Osterkamp, Deputy Head of Section Environmental Certification, DNV GL, Christoph Gessner, Managing Director, Columbus Shipmanagement

The Welcome Reception, hosted by Blohm & Voss on 9 May 2017, will serve as an ice-breaker and participants can meet, in the relaxed environment of the Hafen Klub, and get to know fellow delegates. The Conference Dinner, sponsored by GE Marine and taking place on 10 May 2017 at Block Brau, will further enhance networking opportunities in a social environment.

Join ship owners, operators, ship designers, engine manufacturers and suppliers and classification societies to network, discuss, debate and share information on the pertinent issues facing these key stakeholders at this crucial time for the shipping sector.
