Building or retrofitting vessels fit for the future, whatever it may hold, is more challenging than ever before. Environmental regulations, economic pressures and technological advances are already reshaping how the global merchant fleet is fuelled, powered and equipped. In light of these challenges, the 39th Motorship Propulsion & Emission Conference brings together owners/operators and equipment manufacturers to discuss technical advances and in-the-field experiences that will equip the industry to ‘future-proof’ the global merchant fleet.

Sessions will include:

Cutting edge engine performance:

Emerging technologies for cylinder conditioning:

Turbochargers for today’s shipping market:

Preparing for the ballast water treatment frenzy:

Embracing hybridisation

Digital strategies for vessel and fleet optimisation

Confirmed speakers include:

René Sejer Laursen, Mechanical Engineer, M.Sc., MAN Diesel & Turbo: ME-GI engines update

Iain White, Global Marketing Manager, ExxonMobil Marine Fuels & Lubricants: A multi-fuel future: the impact of the IMO global sulphur cap on fuel and lubricant selection

Last year’s event saw 150 delegates, including nearly 40 of the world’s top operators together with other industry stakeholders – NGOs, suppliers, class societies, organisations – come together in Hamburg for a series of discussion sessions, technical presentations, networking and knowledge sharing. This year’s keynote addresses will be given by Maersk Line’s Head of Fleet Technology, Ole Graa Jakobsen and Stefan Micallef, MEPC Director, IMO.

The Propulsion & Emissions Conference goes from strength to strength and this year’s event will again deliver high calibre speakers whilst also giving delegates the opportunity to participate in discussion sessions and to network and knowledge share. The Conference will start with a Welcome Reception, hosted by Blohm & Voss, on 9 May 2017, the Conference Dinner will take place on 10 May 2017, both of which all participants are invited to attend.

The early bird delegate rate is currently available. Book your place now to save 20%.

The annual Motorship Propulsion & Emissions Conference is recognised as the most technically informative as well as the longest established conference for the global shipping industry. For further information contact the Events team on +44 1329 825335 or email conferences@propulsionconference.com.
