Norwegian firms unveil advanced naval propulsion

Bergen Engines and STADT Naval have teamed up to develop a fully Norwegian-integrated diesel-electric propulsion solution for naval vessels, combining Bergen Engines’ proven generator sets with STADT’s award-winning Lean Propulsion technology

The collaboration aims to deliver high reliability, stealth operation, low emissions and future fuel flexibility for naval and governmental vessels.

The system integrates Bergen Engines’ medium-speed gensets with STADT’s VariGrid technology, providing a reported 10–35% additional fuel savings for vessels with variable operation profiles.
