Mrs Dr Reetta Kaila is at present Technology & Development Manager for Wärtsilä Biogas Solutions at Wärtsilä Gas Solutions, Finland. She has been with Wärtsilä since 2010. Before taking the current position in 2019, she has been acting as Sales Manager for the product line LNG Fuel Gas Supply Systems (2016-2019) in North-Europe and Asia, and Product Manager (2010-2017) for developing new technologies for fuel gas conditioning.
Prior entering the Maritime Industry Mrs Dr Kaila has worked for the Finnish Oil Refinery & Petrochemical Industry designing wastewater treatment systems (Neste Jacobs) and developing biochemicals from Pulp and Paper Industry residues (VTT Research Centre).

-T&D Manager, Wärtsilä Biogas Solutions: Biogas upgrading, polishing and liquefaction
-Wärtsilä’s Future Marine Fuels – technical team
-Chair of the Finnish Gas Association
Mrs Dr Kaila has graduated from the Helsinki University of Technology in 2002 and has a Doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering (2008) with a topic on Hydrogen production from liquid hydrocarbons for SOFC - fuel cell applications. She has contributed to more than 20 papers in high-scored scientific journals along her academic career.
