Rolls-Royce Power Systems confirmed that it plans to develop a high-speed internal combustion engine concept for ships that can run on green methanol in a CO2-neutral manner by the end of 2025 at a kick off meeting at Friedrichshafen. The project will be developed in collaboration with Woodward L’Orange and WTZ Roßlau, with which Rolls-Royce has been working since the beginning of 2023 on the “MeOHmare” project.
