Chengxi wins 84,000dwt multipurpose vessel series

Japan’s Kumiai Senpaku has awarded China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) a contract for 10 x 84,500dwt multipurpose vessels, as well as a 17,000 dwt asphalt carrier. The orders will be built at Chengxi Shipbuilding, although no details about delivery dates were announced. 

The vessels will become the largest multi-purpose ships in service once they are delivered. Chengxi Shipbuilding previously concluded the delivery of a series of 62,000dwt multipurpose vessels in 2022.
