Sunil Krishnakumar is Senior Technical Manager at the International Chamber of Shipping.
Sunil is the ICS lead providing subject matter expertise on marine fuels, air emissions, fire safety and other technical matters.
Sunil has led ICS work on sulphur issues, taking an active part in the development of IMO guidance on 2020 implementation. Sunil is also involved in the IMO work on short term GHG reduction measures, and Lifecycle Analysis and safety of marine fuels. He has led ICS work on the development of various industry guidance documents such as the Guidance to Shipping Companies and Crews on Preparing for Compliance with the 2020 ‘Global Sulphur Cap’ and the Engine Room Procedures Guide.
Prior to joining ICS in 2017, Sunil worked as a marine engineer on various types of ships. He is a qualified Chief Engineer and holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Sunil is a member of the International Council on Combustion Engines (CIMAC) WG7 on fuels.
