As the maritime world counts down to the International Maritime Organization Net-Zero Framework (IMO NZF) adoption meeting in October our expert speakers are preparing for the Propulsion and Future Fuels Conference in November.
One of those key speakers is Evangelos Fragkoulis, Head of Ship Design & Technology at the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping. He leads the development of innovative ship designs aimed at reducing the maritime industry’s carbon footprint.
With a strong background in naval architecture and marine engineering, Fragkoulis focuses on integrating sustainable technologies and alternative fuels into new concept vessel designs as well as retrofitting existing fleets, while at the same time understanding the role of technology to the green transition.
Before joining the Center, he held senior roles at leading maritime organisations, where he contributed to pioneering advancements in ship efficiency, environmental performance, fleet technology, fleet management, newbuilding activities as well as fleet renewal planning. His work is central to driving the global transition toward zero-emission shipping and sustainable maritime operations.
Evangelos will be speaking in the session entitled: Navigating Methanol: Findings and Fixes. An industry view on availability, production, solutions and findings for methanol powered vessels.
