This is just one of the questions to be tackled by expert speakers at this year’s Propulsion and Future Fuels conference, being held in Hamburg from 25-27 November.
Dr. Uwe Hollenbach, Senior Principal Engineer, Ship Performance Center at DNV, Maritime Advisory will be speaking in the session which will consider the latest developments in standardisation, installation and regulation in the wind industry, as well as focusing on how to scale up to meet the demand of the industry.
Dr Hollenbach joined DNV Advisory’s Ship Performance Center in 2015, working on concept design assessment, performance prediction and verification. He has a background in naval architecture, basic design of various ship types, performance prediction and verification using numerical and experimental techniques and analytics.
For almost 10 years he ran HSVA’s resistance and propulsion unit and held positions in various shipyards and design offices.
Recently Uwe has been involved in the long term assessment of the performance of ALS (Air Lubrication Systems) and WAPS (Wind Assisted Propulsion Systems).
