ACCURATE MODELLING FOR HYBRID-SUPERCAPACITOR POWER SYSTEMS

Skeleton Technologies is developing a next generation successor to its 51V ultracapacitor (pictured) with up to 10 times the energy density of current technology. It is expected to reach the market in 2023.

A supercapacitor can run in parallel with a battery, without the need for sophisticated power electronics, but this potential simplicity doesn’t necessarily transfer to the modelling required to estimate payback time.
