    Bureau Veritas (BV) has granted an approval in principle (AIP) for the design for a 150,000 cbm liquefied hydrogen (LH2) carrier and an AiP for the design of a cryogenic membrane containment system for liquefied hydrogen (LH2) developed by GTT. The certificates were presented at the Hyvolution Summit 2024 trade show in Paris on 31 January 2024.

    A EU-led project to bring forward the introduction of ammonia cracking technology connected with a PEM fuel cell into the marine industry has been awarded funding from the EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation fund. The project, which is focused on large deepsea vessels with an engine capacity of 1-10MW, is also intended to evaluate a novel ammonia engine capable of running on an ammonia/hydrogen blend of fuels.
