Maersk adds six methanol dual fuel container ships to orderbook

A.P. Moller - Maersk (Maersk) has ordered six 9,000 teu container ships capable of operating on methanol as a fuel from Yangzijang Shipbuilding in China.  

With the order, Maersk has in total ordered 25 vessels with dual-fuel engines able to operate on green methanol, and has signed a contract with MAN ES to convert a further 11 vessels to methanol dual-fuel operation from 2024.
