    The World Shipping Council, the International Chamber of Shipping and BIMCO issued a joint statement on 3 January welcoming the response of 12 nations to condemn illegal attacks on ships in the Red Sea and the unlawful detention of vessels and crews there.

    Industry calls on UN to develop MBMs

    Shipping bodies BIMCO, CLIA, International Chamber of Shipping and the World Shipping Council, along with other industry groups, have submitted a proposal to the IMO, urging it bring forward discussions around market-based measures (MBM) by several years and incentivise the global fleet to transition to new fuels and technologies.
