Representatives from companies including WinGD, Lloyd’s Register and research house Thetius are part of an advisory board for Marketing in Maritime (MiM).
The specialist marketing and comms firm for the energy and marine sector has appointed the board to provide advice as MiM enters the next phase of its growth trajectory. An expansion of its events offering as well as launching a learning and professional development platform.
Among the advisory board are maritime research house Thetius’s owner and founder Nick Chubb. Those joining him on the board include communications professionals from Lloyd’s Register and WinGD, Mark Warner and Anna Garcia respectively.
Experts from existing maritime marketing hubs on the advisory board include Smart Maritime Network’s co-founder and chief operating officer, Cathy Hodge. Knut Natvig, vice president of corporate communications at Marlink joins her in an example of the synergies between the board and MiM itself, as Marlink provides comms expertise to the maritime and energy sectors.
Nicolas Papados, group director marketing & business development at ship management firm Columbia Group said: “Joining the Marketing in Maritime Advisory Board is an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of maritime marketing. Andy Ford, MiM’s director, added: “It’s now time to take the next step and establish MiM as an educational as well as community-driven platform and the Advisory Board members will help to steer that aim to a reality.”
The firm will be at major industry event Nor-Shipping for the first time next week providing a wind-down and networking space for marketers attending the event and an evening reception at Aker Brygge. The event is expected to attract over 50,000 participants this year and is an established highlight of the marine world’s calendar.
