DNV grants first RoPax Silent(E) notation

A vessel equipped with Wärtsilä controllable pitch propellers has become the first RoPax to be granted DNV’s Silent(E) notation

For the first time a RoPax vessel has been granted Silent(E) notation by DNV following successful sea trials.

Following these trials, the Ala’suinu became the first such vessel to fulfil the DNV Silent(E) notation, satisfying the criteria at 11 and 18 knots.
