Wärtsilä is to supply its new, future-proofed engine for a 44 metre stern trawler being built for Faroe Islands operator, Vardin

The latest addition to Wärtsilä’s engine portfolio, the Wärtsilä 25 4-stroke engine is a modular system that can easily be upgraded to run on low or zero carbon fuels, as they become available.

The vessel is the first of three newbuilds scheduled for operation in the Faroe Islands.
