Chinese Investment In Open-Top Feeders
Tailored to China’s domestic and feeder trade between inland and coastal ports, a new generation of container ships in the 1,000 TEU category has been ordered from Taizhou Jianxing Heavy Industry.
The contract award by Ningbo Ocean Shipping Co (NBOSCO) entails four vessels, with options on four further newbuilds. Deliveries of the initial batch are due to start in November 2024, and continue at three-month intervals.
