    Havila Capella, the latest in a series of battery-hybrid LNG-fuelled cruise ferry newbuildings ordered by Havila Kystruten, will enter service operating along the Norwegian coast between Bergen and Kirkenes. The vessel was delivered on 9 November from Turkey’s Tersan Shipyard.

    GE Power Conversion claims an increase in fuel efficiency of up to 7% for its SeaJetTM VRK series of electrical podded propulsors through newly updated induction motor technology and system simplifications which also reduce maintenance needs and boost system availability.

    Electric propulsion for Wasaline's new ice-class ferry


    Wasaline”s new ferry, Aurora Botnia, was floated out at Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) shipyard on 11 September. The vessel will operate on the world’s northernmost all-year passenger route between Vaasa in Finland and Umeå in Sweden when it enters service in 2021.
