K Line has conducted a successful biofuel test on board a Supramax carrier

The test operation has enabled K Line to establish a system for certifying how much the use of marine biofuels reduces carbon emissions. ClassNK has certified the amount of CO2 reduction (compared with heavy oil) achieved during the test and issued a certificate.

K Line says it is committed to sharing non-financial information as a way of quantifying scope 3 emissions, ie those produced by its customers’ supply chains.

The company will also promote its decarbonisation strategy based on its corporate principle of ‘Trust from all over the world as a logistics company rooted in the shipping industry, we help make the lives of people more affluent.’
