Sallaum Lines DMCC Dubai, an international RoRo cargo operator, has commissioned Wärtsilä’s Decarbonisation Programme to provide tailored advice for two Pure Car/Truck Carrier (PCTC) vessels operated by the operator.

The programme will conduct detailed analysis and modelling of the various options available for the vessels, providing tailored recommendations for the specific vessels for optimal sustainability. Sallaum is the first Middle East operator to take advantage of this service. The order was booked by Wärtsilä in August 2023.

The Decarbonisation Programme includes a number of potential solutions, including Wärtsilä’s energy saving solutions, as well as the introduction of alternative low- and zero-carbon fuels. The delivery time for the programme is three months.
