First green methanol bunkering in Korea

A Maersk container feeder vessel has received the world’s first bunkering of green methanol. The delivery in South Korea marked the first time any vessel has been bunkered with green methanol.

The successful bunkering operation was completed at the port of Ulsan in South Korea in a collaboration between OCI Global, the transportation and storage partner, Odfjell, and the vessel’s owner Maersk.

OCI Global supplied the OCI HyFuels ISCC certified green methanol to Maersk on 16 July 2023.
