Lars Robert Pedersen is a long-standing pillar of the conference, having led proceedings for more than a decade. A recognised authority on maritime technology and regulation, with a particular focus on environmental standards, fuel policy and safety, he regularly represents BIMCO at IMO meetings. His career began in engineering at Maersk, where he rose to Chief Engineer before taking on the role of Director of Regulatory Affairs. He has been with BIMCO since 2010.
Dr Markus Munz brought his expertise to VDMA in July 2022, initially as Project Manager for Engines and Systems with a specialist focus on Power-to-X, before assuming his current role as Managing Director of VDMA Large Engines – CIMAC Germany. He holds an impressive academic background from TU Darmstadt, including a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Mechanical and Process Engineering, a Bachelor’s in Applied Mechanics, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
