Dutch wind propulsion specialist Econowind has successfully completed the installation of four 16-metre VentoFoils on a chemical tanker owned by Danish shipping company Uni-Tankers

The ATEX-certified suction wing units were installed on board the M/T Jutlandia Swan in just four days at Rotterdam Offshore Group, marking a significant milestone in wind-assisted propulsion for tankers.

The VentoFoil system is currently under classification with Bureau Veritas.
