South Korea eyes ECA from 2022

In December 2019, South Korea introduced a voluntary vessel speed reduction program at the country’s five busiest ports: Busan, Ulsan, Yeosu, Gwangyang and Incheon.

South Korea is to introduce a requirement that vessels must operate on 0.1% sulphur fuel while berthed or moored at seven specified ports. The requirement will take effect from 1 September 2020.
